i suddenly remember the twin towers getting edited out of a whole bunch of movies in the wake of 9/11
that was met with a lot of head shaking over here...tho..i honestly cant remember if it was done coz america demanded it or just coz the movie people decided to themselves

There were definitely quite a few . As I recall, the editing was done for a variety of reasons, but overall I think most everyone just weren’t sure the best way to process and acknowledge what had happened. People in media and entertainment tended to tread lightly in that situation , but not really due to any specific demands from the general public as I recall . Regardless, I think that most changes were made with the intention to be respectful in that moment.

They should not be edited out of period media
, they are a part of our cultural
history. Removing them is a disservice to everyone who died that day in NYC.
